Singing is a way to connect with our hearts, and the hearts of others. It is a satisfying form of emotional release, and a magnificent tool for empowerment. It consists of breathing and vibrations… The voice itself is an absolutely incredible force!
Women are invited to join together to sing for peace deep within themselves so that we may weave that peace into our communities and send it throughout the world.
No prior singing experience needed—beginners are warmly welcomed
Focus on healthy vocal technique, including breathwork and warm-ups
Songs from a variety of cultures, sung in multiple languages
Insight into the history and meaning of each song
Emphasis on honoring the origins and meaning of the music

December 1 + 8 | 2 Week Series | All levels
In this two-week series we will collect to strum ukuleles and sing for peace deep within ourselves and weave that positivity into our communities and send it throughout the world. The songs and rhythms explored will be around the themes of peace, resilience and gratitude.
Ukulele players can look forward to strengthening their ukulele strumming and fingerpicking technique while learning new skills and songs, and making new "strumily" friends!

Drum Circle for Bolokada and Friends Village Project
This final donation-based EarthBeat Music Drum Circle of 2025 is for all ages and all experiences, and will benefit the Bolokada and Friends Village Project. This 501c3 organization offers support to the people of Morowaya, a small village in Guinea, West Africa, through fundraising and the promotion of cultural arts programs that are educational, interactive, and exemplify the traditional music, dance, and folklore of the Malinke people.

Brazilian Samba Jam with North Star Samba
A “Farewell to 90 Broad Street Week” program. Join Colin Eletto and his current students for a Brazilian Samba percussion experience. Learn the fundamentals of Samba rhythm as played in the Carnaval parades of Rio de Janeiro. The evening will include a short demo by North Star Samba, then a hands-on Samba workshop, followed by a West African djembe and Samba drumming fusion! All drums and percussion will be provided.

Strum in Joy! is more than just a ukulele class—it’s a welcoming space to explore music and self-expression while building confidence, community, and overall well-being. If ever there was a time that we needed to gather love, kindness, and creativity around ourselves and one another, it is now. Over 8 weeks, you’ll be guided through the fundamentals of ukulele and group singing in a way that’s playful, encouraging, and deeply connecting. Whether you're strumming for the first time or returning to music after a break, this course is your invitation to experience the joy of strumming and singing together.

The “Performance Track” Option is designed for those who show dedication to the technique, music, culture and history of West African traditional music, and are ready to continue building upon their strong foundation of rhythms and skills. There will be a short audition to join.

On Thursday evenings throughout the Summer we will bask in the beats and sing with joyful voices at the magical Fish Creek Marina Pavilion. For this special end-of-Summer Circle we will have a BOUNCY HOUSE for all to enjoy, sponsored by our friends at the Kayak Shak. This Circle will be specially designed for children and families, but all ages are welcomed! Bring a chair, a drum or other percussion, a song to share and/or dance along!
Our circles are rain or shine as we are under cover. Some drums and percussion will be on hand to share.

Guinean Master Musician Seny Daffe will join our community to offer three West African drum and dance workshops. We LOVE learning from Seny and look forward to his masterclasses! There are three workshop offerings:

5:00-6:00 pm Guinea Dance Workshop

Haven’t been in a music class since elementary school? Join Maddy Scotto to review some basic rhythm reading and terminology! Topics explored will include rhythm reading and dictation, time signatures, and polyrhythm. Beginners as well as students with some music background are very welcomed!
Maddy Scotto has been drumming with EarthBeat Music since 2018, studying with Chelsie Henderson, Wayne White, Adam Witt as well as Master Drummers Bolokada Conde, M'Bemba Bangoura and Sayon Camara. She has been teaching General Music PK-5 and Chorus in Schenectady City Schools for almost 20 years and has been a Music Director for shows with the Corinth and Glens Falls Theatre Guilds.
