  • Drum in Joy!

    Drum in Joy! is a West African music-inspired drumming course designed to build confidence, foster community, and promote well-being through the power of music. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to play djembe and dunduns or create music with a group, this is your chance to dive in and experience the joy of playing together.

    What to Expect:

    • Start with the basics and work your way up to playing as part of an ensemble.

    • Culminate in a final celebration with opportunities to perform at community events.

    • Learn from experienced instructors, special guest professionals and visiting West African Master Drummers.

  • Intro to West African Drumming

    For total beginners, anyone who would like a refresher on the basics, or anyone who would like to go at a slow, intentional pace. A complete introduction to the West African djembe, from its history to playing technique and more!

    Drummers can look forward to strengthening their technique while learning new skills and songs, and making new "drumily" friends!

  • Drum & Sing for Peace

    We collect with the intention to drum and sing for PEACE deep within ourselves and weave that peace into our communities and send it throughout the world. The songs and rhythms explored will be around the themes of peace and gratitude.

    Drummers can look forward to strengthening their technique while learning new skills and songs, and making new "drumily" friends!

  • Community Drum & Song Circles

    Earth Beat Community Drum Circles with Chelsie and friends have become a huge part of our region! We continue to create community through these donation-based intergenerational, family friendly drumming gatherings. Donations are accepted for various community nonprofits which will be announced ahead of each gathering.

  • 1:1 or Microgroup West African Drumming Lessons

    This is your time to shine: improve your technique and work toward your goals.  You can gain valuable individual insights and guidance to play with more confidence and ease over time.  30, 45 or 60 minutes may be booked.  

  • Dunduns Jamboree

    Drummers will focus on the amazing West African dunduns family, made up of the dundunba, songban and kenkeni! Participants will explore rhythms in both the traditional style and the more modern Ballet style. Beginners are very welcomed!

    Drummers can look forward to strengthening their technique while learning new skills and songs, and making new "drumily" friends!

  • West African Musical Arts Masterclasses

    WITH VISITING MASTER MUSICIANS & DANCERS

    We celebrate and honor the culture-bearers of West African music and dance through workshops and performances organized by Earth Beat Music.  Dive into the history, culture and traditions through workshops in Djembe, Dunduns, Krin, Balafon, Kora, Dance, Song, Language and Folklore!

  • Drum-Dance-Sing School & Community Programming

    Earth Beat Music presents Drum-Dance-Sing Presentations, Workshops and Residencies! Our programs enhance mental health and well-being, foster personal development and encourage creative expressiveness through the powerful, transformative practices of drumming, movement, and singing.

    We share West African traditional music, which includes diving into the rich history, culture and language, to create more resilient and empathetic communities. We strive to connect students to the Master Musicians - our mentors - from West Africa, as well as other regional visual and dance artists to create a WHOLE experience.
