For the first time EVER, EarthBeat Music is hosting a Balafon Master! Abou Sylla will offer a workshop that will be VERY informative and is intended for very new and curious balafon players up to more experienced players. He will introduce the history and significance of this 800 (!?) year old instrument, and all participants will get a chance to play it within a group setting. Abou, with M'Bemba, will also do a short musical performance as part of the workshop. This is not to be missed!

In the second part of the day, the one and only M'Bemba Bangoura will hold a special drumming class where participants learn the djembe AND the dundun parts! There is a 30 minute break in between the two workshops for lunch. Both are held at the (air-conditioned!) Village of Victory Hall in Victory NY.
