Dear EarthBeat Music Family,

Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words regarding my recent big announcement about 90 Broad Street’s Future*. As I’ve said to some: it’s time to fly! 90 Broad - and Schuylerville at large - has been a wonderful, interesting, loving, unique nest for these 12+ years.

What I know to be true is that WE make a place and a space what it is. Without our collective positive intentions and energies, 90 Broad Street was just a shell. We made it into a safe and creative haven, and in turn have helped to make Schuylerville a destination village. So I know in my heart that we will do that wherever we drum, strum, sing and dance. We already have sprinkled that goodness in countless other schools, libraries, community centers, parks, camps and festivals and will continue to do so.

I am here for anyone who needs to share any feelings of loss and grief around this transition. You are always welcome to call or email me so that we may find a time to talk. Let’s enjoy every class and workshop to its fullest for these remaining months!

This Thursday, October 9 feels like an extra special day as we meet for our October Grateful Gathering in the late morning, followed by the EarthBeat Music Drum + Song Circle for Wellspring in the early evening!

Please drop me a line if you plan to join us at the Grateful Gathering. There is no RSVP necessary for the Drum + Song Circle, but do please read on for the details on this final public outdoor Circle of 2025 so you can be prepared! New friends are welcomed at Grateful Gatherings as well as Drum + Song Circles!

This particular Circle is a collaboration with members of North Star Samba and as always will be supported by Drum in Joy students and other area hand drummers!

Here’s what to expect for this FREE, all ages event:

Meet at Saratoga Apple near the stage. Please bring your own chair, and drum or other percussion! We will set up in a large circle on the green space just north of the band stage. There will be a few drums and other percussion to share as needed.

The drum circle will begin at 6:00 pm and will end promptly at 7:00 pm. I recommend participants arrive 15-30 minutes early to find parking, set up their chair and go check out the farm stand to purchase a snack or beverage. Saratoga Apple closes at 7:00 pm, so best to do your shopping before the Circle!

Donations will be gratefully accepted for Wellspring’s ONE October Campaign during Relationship Abuse Awareness Month. "Even one person living in fear because of domestic violence is too many. So, we launched the ONE Campaign - because change starts with one person who chooses to care. We are asking you to be that ONE. During the month of October, local businesses will host events and promotions to raise support for survivors of abuse.” For more information, or to donate electronically, go to this Wellspring’s ONE Campaign page.

The Circle is weather dependent as we are out in the open air. Dress warmly! If the Circle must be canceled due to weather or an unforeseen circumstance, an email announcement will be sent within three hours of the event.
