This Thursday, April 9 I am leading another Drum in Joy! Djembe + Dunduns workshop at Refuge in downtown Troy! Join us in this precious space to share in building community through drumming (and then visit one of Troy’s many wonderful eateries afterward for dinner!)
Drum in Joy! is designed to build confidence, foster community, and promote well-being through the power of drumming. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to play djembes and dunduns in a group setting, this is your chance to dive in and learn about the important culture-bearers, history, and rhythms of these dynamic instruments while experiencing the wonderful energy of playing with a loving group of people.
To honor Bolokada Conde’s visit to our community this month, I will be donating 20% of the Drum in Joy in Troy class fees to the Bolokada and Friends Village Project, and will be teaching rhythms from Guinea, West Africa that I have studied with Bolokada over the years.
Preregistration is required; online registration closes at 12 pm on Thursday. Refer a friend and receive $5 off a future drum class! Also a reminder that my classes can always be sliding scale. Please email me so that I may accommodate you.
