Dear EarthBeat Music Family,

My sweet Dad - affectionately known as “Mister” to his family, friends and community - died on Sunday, June 15. I am riding the grief rollercoaster and thanks to my incredible family, friends and drumily and strumily, I am staying grounded. I returned to teaching Drum in Joy and Strum in Joy classes yesterday and today, which has been medicine for my aching heart.

This is the return message I sent to my current students:
Being very much my farmer father's daughter, I process best when I am working and keeping a routine.  Also much like him, I am a business owner who thoroughly loves her career and all the beautiful things that are cultivated along the way. Thank you for your kind and supportive words and actions throughout the beginning of this transition.  I know that you will all hold space for me, support my privacy and will be understanding of any tears that may spontaneously flow during our class times together. Truly grateful for you.

Alan “Mister” G. Henderson Obituary

Alan's guiding light was his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. The ripple of lives he positively affected is vast.

He was MY guiding light in so many, many ways, and I know for others as well. It feels like someone took the North Star out of the night sky and told me to start navigating. I know so many of you understand this feeling from your own losses and I admire and hold all of you deep down in my heart. Thank you to all who are loving up my Mom and my siblings, too.

Amendments to the EarthBeat Music Calendar:

• Nourish Designs will keep the EarthBeat Music store open until 6/27. Order a Strum in Joy or Drum in Joy tank top, tee shirt, long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt by this Friday!

• The 6/29 drumming workshop with Wayne has been cancelled.

• The remaining June and July Grateful Gatherings have also been cancelled and will resume in the Fall.

• A brand new 4 week class series - Rhythm Basics with Maddy - begins on 7/9!

• The first EarthBeat Community Drum Circle will be on 7/10 (no circle on 6/26).
