Please read this message from Seny’s dance student Emilie (VT) for more information on the Daffe family’s situation: “Seny is a loved teacher in drum and dance communities across the U.S. In all of these communities Seny makes us feel like family. As many of you know Seny has recently been able to bring three of his children to Vermont with him. Nana, Lucia and Fode have adjusted quickly by learning English, making friends, playing sports and finding many creative ways to bridge the vast cultural divides from city life in Guinea to rural life in Vermont. What they have missed the most in this transition is their mother Hadja and their little sister Louise.
Seny has accomplished a miracle in uncertain times and has gotten visas approved for Hadja and Louise to finally be able to come to Vermont! Seny's whole life has been dedicated to his family and he needs all of our help to make this last phase in his dream to unite his family come true.
We are aiming to raise $5,000 among Seny’s supportive drum and dance communities. These funds will be used for his wife and youngest daughter’s required medical visits for travel as well as their air fare to and from the embassy in Senegal, and then finally to the U.S. Wontanara! We are together!”
