Eid Mubarak to our Muslim friends and loved ones, and a peaceful Spring Equinox to all! For the past two weeks ukulele strummers and djembe and dundun drummers have been playing with such exuberance in Strum in Joy and Drum in Joy Spring session classes and rehearsals. This is just the beginning of an inspired Spring and Summer of music-making…

Next week my colleague Abdul and I have the pleasure of teaching West African drumming at an elementary school in Saratoga Springs. We will have the opportunity to drum with every class in grades K-5 throughout the week, with the goal of engaging and empowering these children to fully express their JOY!

There are still some spaces available in the FREE Frame Drumming workshops at the Easton Library. I am so happy to offer four community music pop up workshops - WomenSing, Frame Drumming, Drum in Joy and Strum in Joy - at Refuge in Troy on Thursdays in April. And WomenSing for Peace will meet one Monday per month at Live Oak Wellness in Greenwich starting in April.
